I have been using it for two years and it
is still in impecable condition....and best yet....my hair is looking great.
My daughter and I use it daily and we are both satisfied.
I wish all CHI products would come with an auto shut off system when the iron is not in motion for a set amount of time. It moved through my hair easily while doing a great job with straightening. The only difference that I do not like is that it is a 35W instead of 40W like my old Chi. Also, when Amazon advertises that it is an ionic product it is misleading. No where on the original Chi does it say it is ionic. There is however, an ionic iron made by infraTECH by Chi. It is not this one.
I think this Chi will do fine. I can only hope the product wasn't cheapened and will last as long as my first one. This was bought from Customer First through Amazon. They were very fast in their delivery.

It beats the 'cheapies' hands down. I also like it because it is thin! I thought (in my ignorance) using a larger iron would be easier, but not so. Its much easier to use this one. Plus... It comes in a limited edition pink style if you like that sort of thing (which I do). I also love this iron because its really easy to curl the ends of your hair. Just twist and go.

I only had to go over each part of my hair once and I was done, so i stopped trying to blow dry my hair to get rid of the frizz, because the straightner would do it. But after about 6 months the straightener stopped getting as hot as it did at first, and now I have to go over each peice about 3-5 times instead of just once. And beware any heat protection product get the panels all dirty and sticky and make it work worse. So take care of it. It also gives you split ends, so use conditioner and moisterizing shampoo if you plan to use it everyday or a lot. Also all of the stuff about being able to curl or get the ends to flip the way you want is almost impossible for one person and even if you have help it is still difficult.

i'd wanted a chi for a long time, but it wasn't until recently that i finally decided to break down and buy one. this deep brilliance chi was the cheapest chi i could find online ANYWHERE (barring others with terrible reviews that i wouldn't even consider). i was pretty apprehensive about the "deep brilliance" aspect of it, because i thought it may be too powerful for my hair or just not the right make for it (my hair is thick, but only slightly wavy and not too terrible to manage).

Results are great and fast since it gets very HOT! However the plates are not the only thing that gets hot, but the whole flat iron does which makes it sometimes hard to get a grip of. I also noticed that this flat iron isn't as heavy as my previous ones which makes me doubt the quality of the product but so far so good.
